Here's a quick roundup of stories you may have missed today and over the Holiday weekend.
Bella Thorne Set for New Rockettes Show
Teen superstar Bella Thorne will be the voice of the Alice in Wonderland Statue in the Rockettes' New York Spring Spectacular. As previously reported, Laura Benanti has been tapped to headline the new show featuring the iconic Big Apple dance troupe, which will celebrate the charm of New York and include Whoopi Goldberg as the voice of the Statue of Liberty. Performances will run from March 12 through May 3 at Radio City Music Hall, with opening night scheduled for March 26.
Snooki Eyes Broadway
Snooki is aiming for the Great White Way. That’s right. The Jersey Shore star recently wrote ([sic] warning): “I’m going to L.A. and I’m going to have a meeting with my peoples an I’m going to tell them let’s get me on Broadway. I’m not famous anymore to do SNL. But I’m going to figure something out to do Broadway!” Probably best, however, if she doesn’t tread the boards in Chicago—theater fans have already made their feelings known about that idea.
Mob Wife Tapped for Funeral
Staying with the reality TV theme for a New York minute, Mob Wives star Karen Gravano is set to take on the role of Fonzina Fucci in My Big Gay Italian Funeral off-Broadway from January 25. She previously made a cameo in My Big Gay Italian Wedding. Sounds like perfect casting!
